Police conduct death investigation near University of Miami
MIAMI - Police in South Miami are conducting a death investigation at an apartment complex.
It happened near the University of Miami in the 6600 block of Read Road.
Miami-Dade police say a 60-year-old man shot and killed his 52-year-old girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself.
The university sent students an alert earlier saying there was no active threat.
No additional details had been released.
