MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) – Authorities have cleared a man who was believed to have tried leaving two suspicious packages at a Miami Beach post office Wednesday.
According to Miami Beach Fire Rescue, the man brought in two envelopes to the store on Washington Avenue and 13th Street and attempted to buy stamps.
Both envelopes were addressed to the FBI.
"That alerted the staff who then called in the FBI. The FBI came here," said Miami Beach Fire Rescue Division Chief Tim Howarth.
Hazmat crews and the bomb squad showed up but cleared the scene.
Hours later, police were able to speak to the man and determined he did not commit a crime.
