Police: Children Witness Father Shoot Mother In North Miami
NORTH MIAMI - (CBS4) - A 31-year-old wife and mother was murdered in front of her three children just days before Mother's Day.
North Miami police were called to her home Thursday night to respond to a shooting and found that her 56-year-old husband Wensley Lindsay had shot her and then himself, police said.
The couple had been married for 12 years, police said.
The incident unfolded at 1531 NE 132nd Road at about 8:50 p.m. when the pair got into a heated argument. Minutes later Lindsay reportedly grabbed a gun and shot Davis several times and then turned the gun on himself, police said.
Lindasy is being treated for his injuries at Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. The children were able to escape when the shooting began. A family court judge will determine who will take custody of the children.
