Two Men Arrested After Police Chase Ends In Hollywood
HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) – A high speed chase which spanned two counties ended with one man hospitalized after he was shot by police.
Just after 9:30 p.m., Keiandre Davis, 20, and Kevin Gardner, 32, reportedly robbed David Exalien and Marvin Deuise at gunpoint at their Ft. Lauderdale home. According to police, Exalien and Deuise knew Davis and Garnder. As Davis and Gardner drove off, Deuise called police as he followed them into Miami-Dade, where police spotted their car in the area of NW 135th Street and NW 17th Avenue.
When police went to pull the car over, the chase was on.
Dozens of police cars from Miami-Dade, Opa Locka and Hollywood joined the pursuit as it headed north into Broward. It all came to an end just after 10 p.m. when the two men bailed out of the car at the Hollywood Boulevard exit of I-95. At one point, gunfire was exchanged and Davis was hit.
Gardner was taken into custody moments later. Officers from Miami-Dade and Opa Locka chased Davis into nearby Stan Goldman Park where he was captured. He was then taken to Memorial Regional Hospital where he was treated for several gunshot wounds.
Both Davis and Gardner will face a number of charges including armed robbery and fleeing police.
