FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Police are asking for the public's help in finding a 25-year-old man who was last seen a week ago.
Steven James MacKrell, according to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, was last seen July 30 at 1:30 AM in the 600 block of West Las Olas Boulevard after leaving the downtown area in the 200 block of SW 2nd St. in Ft. Lauderdale.
MacKrell's family and friends, including his 1-year-old daughter, were passing out flyers in Ft. Lauderdale Saturday.
"He's just vanished off the face of the Earth and somebody has to know something. Somebody has to have seen him or know something about his whereabouts," Michael MacKrell, Steven's brother, said Saturday.
Mackrell, according to police, is 25-years-old, 5'10", 150 pounds and a medium build. Police said MacKrell was driving a white four-door 2013 Ford Fusion with Florida license plate WJ70L.
Detectives have learned that MacKrell entered his car, drove westbound on West Las Olas and then turned right on NW 7th Ave.
Police have canvassed the downtown area along with the Fort Lauderdale Nautical Unit, looking in the waterways, and have not been able to locate him or his car.
MacKrell's family is asking for the public's help. His aunt said on Saturday that MacKrell's bank account had not been touched, his cell phone had not been on and his car not seen.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
