Video May Give Clues In Check Cashing Store Burglary

KENDALL (CBSMiami) -- New surveillance video may provide some clues in a brazen burglary of an Amscot check cashing store in Kendall early Tuesday.
Miami-Dade Police say it was 1:15 a.m. when they responded to the store at 13864 S.W. 88th Street and discovered a hole in the roof of the store.
Miami-Dade Police Detective Daniel Ferrin told CBS4's Peter D'Oench that despite the damage to the store, nothing was taken.
Police said two suspects were taken into custody and are being questioned and others could be at large.
The manager of the store said neither he nor any of the employees were allowed to comment.
Deion Vargas, the manager of the Blade Barbershop next to the store said he showed police his store's surveillance tape and believes it may have captured the criminals.
"On the tape you see the car pulling up and two suspects jumping up and I think they go up to the roof and break into Amscot," said Vargas. "It's just a crazy situation. They were there to get cash."
Fellow barber Juan Rico said, "It's obvious they were there to do something they were not supposed to be doing. You just have to look at the tape. It's all in the tape. They had a plan. This was planned out."
"You never know what's going to happen," said Rico. "There are some bad people out there in the community. You know the economy for some is bad and people want to get ahead in life but what they did was bad. I've been living here with my family and this is not a bad community. They will pay for it eventually."
Fellow barber Alex Tivo said of the suspects, "They need to find God. That's all."
D'Oench called the Tampa Bay headquarters of the Amscot store and left a message but had not heard back by the end of the day.
Miami-Dade Police said they do not have a description to release of the suspects at large and so far have not identified those being questioning.
