Pilot Safe After Crash Landing
POMPANO BEACH - (CBS4) - A pilot is grateful to be alive after his plane crash-landed Friday afternoon in a field north of the Pompano Beach Air Park.
The pilot of the fixed-wing, single-engine plane had been practicing takeoffs and landings, according to FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen.
The DA20 had had crashed after taking off from one of the runways, Bergen said.
The aircraft came to rest at a field within the airport's boundary fence near 1001 NE 10th Street, she added. The pilot's name was not immediately released.
