Philippe Poses No Threat To Land
MIAMI (CBS4) – Tropical Storm Philippe maintained strength overnight but still poses no threat to land.
At 11 p.m. Tuesday, Philippe was located 595 miles south-southeast of Bermuda. Maximum sustained winds were holding at 65 mph with some higher gusts. Tropical storm force winds extended 90 miles from Philippe's center.
The system was moving to the west at 7 mph.
The National Hurricane Center said Philippe is expected to slow down and take a turn to the northwest on Wednesday. They add that some strengthening is possible over the next 48 hours and Philippe could become a hurricane.
