Hurricane Philippe A Little Stronger, Still No Threat To Land
MIAMI (CBS4) – Tropical Storm Philippe has strengthened slightly since becoming a hurricane Thursday morning, but the storm remains no threat to land.
At 11 p.m., Philippe was located 455 miles east-southeast of Bermuda.
Maximum sustained winds are 90 mph with higher gusts. Philippe is a category 1 hurricane and some weakening is forecasted during the next 48 hours.
The system was moving to the northeast near 13 mph, and the cyclone is expected to move toward the northeast at a faster forward speed during the next two days.
