"Person to Person" Returns On CBS
MIAMI (CBS4) - CBS News made television history with the groundbreaking series "Person to Person," hosted by legendary newsman Edward R. Murrow.
Each week Murrow, seated in his armchair in New York, took viewers by remote into the private homes of the most famous people on the planet. Although it was produced more than 50 years ago, Murrow's guests were of such iconic status their names still resonate today: John and Jacqueline Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando, Elizabeth Taylor, Eleanor Roosevelt, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall to name a few.
With a nod to history, CBS News is bringing back "Person to Person" as a television event with the celebrities and newsmakers that are the legends of today.
The new program is hosted by two widely respected journalists, Lara Logan and Charlie Rose, who are given unprecedented access inside the homes and lives of stars like Sean Penn, Alicia Keyes, and Drew Brees, who will all appear on the first episode.
Alicia Keyes opened up about life behind the scenes and said the most important roles she plays are as wife and mother.
"Perspectives change. I think priorities change. I mean, I was such a different person seven years ago. Nothing would stop me from traipsing from here to London to LA to back to London to LA in three days and not sleep and go. And - and it was just I thought that that was everything, you know. But to have time to spend with my family and my son it's like perspectives change a bit. It's like hold up, let's not kill ourselves her." Keyes told Logan and Rose.
She went on to say she'd like to have at least one more child.
"Person to Person" airs this Friday at 10 p.m.
