Pembroke Pines Religion Teacher Accused Of Fondling Boy
PEMBROKE PINES (CBSMiami) — A 71-year-old man is accused of fondling a five-year-old boy's genitals during religious studies at the man's home.
Worse yet, other children may have studied at Syed's Pembroke Pines home.
On July 17, a member of the boy's family notified the Pembroke Pines Police Department that Masroor Ahmed Syed, whom the boy called "Uncle", may have molested the boy.
The Broward County Child Protection Team then jumped into action, conducting a forensic interview in collaboration with Pembroke Pines detectives.
The boy's parents told detectives the five-year-old boy attended religious studies at Syed's home between September 2011 and June 28 of this year. The boy told detectives that Syed fondled his genitals numerous times.
Syed was arrested and charged with one count of lewd and lascivious molestation on a child younger than 12.
