Pedestrian Killed On U.S. 1 Causes Southbound Lane Closures
SOUTH MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The southbound lanes of U.S. 1 were shutdown for hours Friday morning following a fatal crash.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a woman was struck and killed by a car as she was walking across U.S. 1 at SW 67th Avenue around 6:00 a.m.
The driver of the car, Andres Rothschuh, 27, stayed on the scene. Investigators have not said whether the driver will face any charges.
The identity of the woman has not been released.
The road between SW 67th Avenue and 80th Street was closed for several hours.
