Paul Ryan's Mom, Sister At Ft. Lauderdale Rally
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – As a much coveted battle ground state in the upcoming presidential election, expect the campaigns of President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney to work hard to make their presence felt.
On Monday, Betty Douglas, mother of Romney's running mate Paul Ryan, along with his sister Janet Ryan Rock attended a "Take Back Our Country" rally at the campaign's Fort Lauderdale office.

"Floridians understand the clear choice between two very different visions for our nation's future and momentum is on our side after last week's debate. We can't afford four more years of President Obama's failed policies where Americans have seen unacceptably high unemployment, declining take-home pay, and crushing trillion-dollar deficits," according to Tom Brandt with the Romney-Ryan campaign. "Governor Romney's Plan for a Stronger Middle Class will create 12 million new jobs, higher take-home pay, and a brighter future for all Americans."
During the rally Douglas, 78, made the nine millionth contact call to a registered voter in the state to ask for their support. The Romney campaign said with that call, they made eight times as many phones compared to the campaign in 2008.
On Thursday President Obama will return to Florida to appear at a rally at the University of Miami in Coral Gables.
Obama's remarks at the BankUnited Center will include things he wished he'd said in last week's lackluster debate performance against Mitt Romney. According to the campaign, Obama "will continue to underscore the clear contrast between himself and Mitt Romney, who has grown increasingly misleading in how he talks about his own plans."
After the University of Miami event, Obama is scheduled to attend a fundraiser in Miami with Eva Longoria and a performance by Sheila E.
