A few early morning showers make for a muggy Sunday afternoon in South Florida
MIAMI - Happy Groundhog Day, everyone!
While Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and predicts six more weeks of winter. Even so, it feels like early spring here in South Florida.
A humid morning paired with light patchy fog will lead to a warm afternoon in the lower 80s. While a 10 percent isolated shower chance can't be ruled out for the afternoon and early evening, South Florida mostly will remain rain-free today.
If you're headed to the beach, don't forget your sunscreen as we're tracking a "high" rating on the UV index once again. Thankfully, rip current risks remain low for swimmers and there are no alerts out on the water for boaters. Sea heights up to 2 feet, along with a light chop, are expected for both the Atlantic waters and Florida Keys.
Looking ahead to the upcoming work week, our weather pattern remains the same with sticky mornings in the upper 60s to lower 70s and warm afternoons around 80 degrees.
Stray shower chances pop up throughout the week, but most days remain dry throughout the extended forecast.
