MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Passengers flying from South Florida to Cuba is a new sight in recent months following the historic thaw in relations between Cuba and the U.S.
Saturday morning, Cuba-bound passengers at Miami International Airport are reacting to the death of Fidel Castro.
Berta Soler Fernandez told CBS4's Ted Scouten she's happy and excited to head back to Cuba after learning Fidel Castro is dead. And this time, she says, she's not as worried.

The same cannot be said for a group of nurses heading to Cuba to meet with health care workers.
"I was afraid this would happen when we would go to Cuba," said Joan Fronce. She explained nobody in her group knows what to expect when they land.
"I feel fortunate that I'm going to be around and I'm going to be able to learn how the country feels. How the people feel," said nurse Nicola Balmain.

For many in the group there is no personal stake in this, they have no family ties to Cuba. They see this more as a chance to see first-hand, history in the making. "I think we're very fortunate to part of a very historical event. It will be very interesting. It's always interesting, today especially," said Balmain.
There are several airlines that now fly to Cuba including Southwest, JetBlue and American Airlines.
