Parkland Car Wash Hires People With Autism
PARKLAND (CBSMiami) – If you are looking to get your car squeaky clean and help make a difference, a new car wash in Parkland may be just the thing for you.
The owners of the Rising Tide Car Wash have focused on employing people with autism, hiring more than 30 young people to staff their business.
The car wash's owners know it can be tough for those with autism to find work because their own 22-year-old son has it.
When training the workers, they break the car wash process down into 46 specific steps to help each employee with the the task at hand.
"It was a vigorous training. They taught us the way to do it, they made us hustle but it was worth it so we can keep our jobs and so they can keep their business running," said Lucas Macaluso.
The owners said that their employees provide a superior car wash to others in part because the employees are very detail-oriented.
