Paper Recycling Warehouse Goes Up In Smoke
MIAMI (CBS4) – A paper recycling warehouse burned to a crisp Saturday despite the efforts of 50 firefighters from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
The blaze in northwest Miami-Dade County in the 7500 block of NW 27th Avenue and was reported shortly after 1 PM Saturday. It took about 90 minutes to bring under control, said Fire Rescue Spokesman Capt. Eric Baum.
No one was injured in the fire, but it was risky nonetheless.
"This was a very dangerous fire. Firefighters initially were forced to attack the fire in a defensive mode from the outside until the main body of the fire could be knocked down," Baum said.
The building has been damages to the point it wont be put back into use as is.
"The building has extensive fire damage and cannot be occupied. Fire investigators will spend the next several hours trying to determine the origin and cause of the fire."
