Panthers Snap 8-Game Losing Streak
WINNIPEG, Manitoba (CBSLocal) - The Florida Panthers had a tough road trip, but ended the night Saturday with some good news. Kris Versteeg scored two goals and added an assist to snap an eight-game, road-losing streak with a 4-3 shootout win over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday night.
Mikael Samuelsson scored the Panthers' winning goal of the shootout, which used 14 skaters. Mike Santorelli also scored in regulation for Florida (22-15-10), which also ended a four-game skid.
Winnipeg (22-20-6) got two goals from Nik Antropov, Alexander Burmistrov added one, and Kyle Wellwood had two assists.
Scott Clemmensen stopped 41 shots for the win. Winnipeg's Ondrej Pavelec made 23 saves.
