Panthers Look To End Skid As Flames Come To Town

SUNRISE (CBSMiami/SportsDirect) – The Florida Panthers are hoping a return to home ice will get them back on track.
The Panthers are winless in their last five games but will get a chance to work out their issues in the Sunshine State for the next three weeks, starting with a visit from the Calgary Flames on Tuesday.
The Panthers play seven of their next eight contests on home ice, sandwiching a quick trip to meet interstate-rival Tampa Bay in between, before they play in Detroit on Nov. 29.
Florida has managed just seven goals during its drought (0-3-2) and still is awaiting the first goal of the season from former Calder Trophy winner Jonathan Huberdeau.
The Panthers will have to get their offense in gear against the Flames, who have recorded 15 tallies while winning three of their last four contests.
Johnny Gaudreau has registered five of his team-high 17 points in the last three games for Calgary while 19-year-old Sam Bennett has provided a boost with eight in his last six contests.
The Flames are beginning a four-game road trip that continues on to Tampa Bay, Washington and Chicago.

ABOUT THE FLAMES (5-9-1): Calgary has struggled defensively while residing at the bottom of the league in goals allowed per game (3.87), but Karri Ramo yielded a total of three to win the last two contests.
Free-agent signee Michael Frolik is paying early dividends with 11 points, including at least one in each of his last four games, to tie Jiri Hudler for second on the team.
Defenseman Dougie Hamilton, the Flames' other big offseason acquisition, is beginning to settle in with a plus-2 rating over his last six games and an assist in Saturday's 5-2 win over Pittsburgh.
ABOUT THE PANTHERS (5-6-3): Veteran Jaromir Jagr leads the team with six goals but has gone without a point over the last four contests and has tallied once since center Aleksander Barkov went down with a hand injury on Oct. 22.
Vincent Trocheck has tied Jagr with a team-high 10 points and fellow forward Nick Bjugstad has nine, including his fifth goal in the 4-1 loss at Los Angeles on Saturday.
David Bolland (hand), who has recorded four points in his last six games, is expected to return to the lineup after missing the past two contests.
OVERTIME
- Calgary C Sean Monahan notched a goal and an assist against Pittsburgh on Saturday for his first multi-point performance of the season.
- Jagr has recorded 588 career power-play points, needing one to break the tie with Teemu Selanne for third place on the all-time list and two to tie Nicklas Lidstrom for second.
- The teams split their two meetings last season, with each winning on the road and a total of 21 goals being scored.
