Palm Beach Woman, 2 Children Killed In Canal Crash
WEST PALM BEACH (CBS4) - A Palm Beach County woman and two children were killed when their SUV crashed into a canal Saturday night.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said 32-year old Dieula Francois was behind the wheel of her Jeep on State Road 80 when she lost control about eight miles east of Belle Glade. The SUV crossed the median, shot down the embankment and flipped into the canal.
The sheriff's department said their initial efforts to rescue Francois, 10-year old Midchina Francois and 3-year old Claudiz Francois failed.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews eventually pulled them from the water and took them to an area hospital where they were pronounced dead. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
