Owner Offers Reward For Missing K-9
CUTLER BAY (CBS4)- Police are asking for the public's help after a narcotics search dog disappeared.
According to officials, Lobi, a Belgian Malinois, disappeared from her Cutler Bay home on Saturday, October 22.
The dog is owned by a police officer who said that left his home with his family last Friday night and did not return until the next night. On Sunday morning, the officer went into the backyard and that's when he realized the dog was missing.
Lobi is a former police K-9 and was supposed to return to work with detectives as a narcotics search dog.
The owner, who has had the dog since 2008, said he moved into the home about one and a half months ago and within that time Lobi never tried to escape. The officer believes someone may have stolen her while he was out with his family.
He added that there is no sign that the dog could have escaped as his backyard is completely fenced. He also noted that there were no holes in the backyard to suggest that the dog dug his way out.
The owner said he is offering a $500 reward for the dog, with no questions asked.
Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
