Owls Plucked By George Mason 66-51
BOCA RATON (CBS4) -- Mike Morrison's big second half paced a balanced scoring attack as George Mason defeated Florida Atlantic 66-51 on Saturday.
Morrison scored 14 of his 18 points after halftime for the Patriots (4-2), who had four players in double figures and won their second straight. The loss was the third straight for the Owls (3-4).
Luke Hancock had 14 points, six rebounds and seven assists for George Mason, which is in the second game of a five-game homestand.
The Patriots' defensive pressure gave Florida Atlantic trouble throughout, as the Owls committed 14 turnovers and shot just 20 for 53 from the field (37.7 percent). George Mason took a 34-23 halftime lead and the lead never fell to single-digits in the second half.
Greg Gantt had 15 points to lead Florida Atlantic.
