Oscars Pizza Delivery Man Gets Generous Tip
LOS ANGELES (CBSMiami) -- This year's Oscars had no shortage of memorable moments.
Maybe the biggest one came when host Ellen Degeneres emerged on stage with a bewildered-looking pizza delivery man in tow.
As Edgar Martirosyan told CNN's Piers Morgan Monday, he certainly didn't expect to end up on live national TV, in front of an audience of the world's biggest movie stars.
"I was shocked, and I came out with the pizzas, and they told me to just wait... that the pizza was for the writers. I was waiting and then Ellen came out. Ellen came out and said 'I'm gonna tell you to follow me'."
Piers then asked him, "Well where did you think you were going?"
He replied, "I didn't know! That's the thing."
It turns out, Martirosyan is not just a pizza delivery man.
According to USA Today, he actually owns the Big Mama's and Papa's Pizzeria restaurant that provided the Oscar pies.
Besides the publicity he's received over his new stardom, Ellen and her fellow stars were good tippers. Ellen actually passed Pharelle's hat around and ended up getting around $600. Then she put in the rest for a total of $1,000.
The pizzeria's business, as one might have guessed, skyrocketed after its Oscar debut.
