Regenerated Ophelia Could Become A Tropical Storm
MIAMI (CBS4) – Down but not out, what was once a remnant of Tropical Storm Ophelia has re-strengthened and could become a tropical storm sometime Wednesday.
At 11 p.m., the center of the system was about 235 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands. Maximum sustained winders were about 35 mph with some higher gusts. The storm was moving to the northwest near 3 mph.
The National Hurricane Center forecasts that Ophelia will take a gradual turn to the northwest and north-northwest over the next two days. Some strengthening is expected and Ophelia could reach tropical storm status by Wednesday.
