Ophelia Regains Strength In Atlantic
MIAMI (CBS4) – After regenerating Tuesday afternoon into a tropical depression, Ophelia has now regained more powerful tropical storm.
At 11 p.m., the center of the system was about 180 miles east-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands. Maximum sustained winds have increased from 50 mph to 60 mph with some higher gusts. The storm was moving to the north-northwest near 6 mph.
The National Hurricane Center forecasts that Ophelia will continue to track to the northwest and increase in forward speed over the next couple of days.
