One-On-One With The Stars Of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"
MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Andrew Garfield is back in the spider suit and he's stronger, faster and better than ever in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
From the beginning, Peter Parker is flying high, graduating from high school, and enjoying his girlfriend Gwen, played by Garfield's real-life girlfriend, Emma Stone.
"I'm back with a vengeance!" Stone said to CBS4's Lisa Petrillo in a recent interview.
In the film, Peter finds his greatest battle is about to begin.
Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he, a formidable villain that threatens the city plus the return of his old friend, Harry Osborn.
"I think there's a cost that comes with the destiny. I think everyone in this position in life, when they have this kind of higher calling make sacrifices for their own well-being and their own personal life when your called to be the hero and called to save NYC," said Garfield.
Andrew and Emma have been on quite the adventure themselves lately, touring the world to promote the movie. They are at each other's side every step of the way.
Petrillo compared their on camera "electric" chemistry to that of classic movie star couples before them such as Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall and Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. Now there is Garfield and Stone.
"Yeah I can feel it with 'Em'," as he calls her. "She is what she is and she's one of the best," he said bashfully.
"This character is so relatable to so many people and that's when you find when you go to all these different places, said Emma, "There's this huge unifying factor in Spider-Man which is a cool feeling"
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens in theaters Friday, May 2.
It's rated PG-13.
