One In Custody For Burlington Coat Factory Caper
CORAL SPRINGS (CBSMiami) – Coral Springs police have credited the media with helping them to catch one of two people suspected of stealing nearly a thousand dollars worth of shoes from a Burlington Coat Factory location.
Last week, the police department sent out a May 7th surveillance image of a man and woman who they say stole Coach shoes from retailer at 6251 W Sample Road.
According to police, they picked out various pairs of shoes, removed them from the boxes, pulled off the security sensors and then hid them in Burlington Coat Factory bags which they had brought with them.
Police four days after the pair returned and hit the store again. All in all, police believe the couple stole 19 pairs of shoes.
Police say within a day of the surveillance image airing on television, they received a tip and were able to identify the couple as Ronnie Brown Jr. and Cheryl Isaac. On Tuesday, Brown, 44, was taken into custody.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Isaac is urged to call Coral Springs Police at (954) 344-1800.
