Not So Sweet, Nesquik Drink Mix Recalled
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - If you are a lover of the sweet taste of Nestlé Nesquik Chocolate Powder and have purchased it recently, you may want to check the label.
Nestlé USA has announced a voluntary recall on limited quantities of its Nesquik Chocolate Powder.
The powder in question, which mixed with milk, could be contaminated with salmonella.
Nestlé USA issued their recall after theirs supplier, Omya Inc., issued their own recall after salmonella was found in batches of calcium carbonate, an ingredient found in Nesquik powder.
So far no there have been no reports of anyone getting sick, but the company advises consumers to take the appropriate precautions.
The containers have the expiration date of October 2014 on the bottom.
The company states that only the 10.9, 21.8 and 40.7 ounce canisters are affected by this recall.
