Not As Cool Thursday, Weekend Looks Great
MIAMI (CBS4) – Getting out the door Thursday morning you may have noticed there was still a chill in the air, but it wasn't nearly as cold as Wednesday morning.
Thursday morning temperatures ranged from the low 50s near the coast to the mid to upper 40s inland. This was a stark contrast to Wednesday morning when most areas dipped down to the low 40s with a few inland locations falling to the mid to upper 30s.
CBS4 meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez said slowly but surely the weather will be warming up as we head into the weekend. Highs on Thursday will be flirting with the 70 degree mark with plenty of sunshine.
Dressing in layers will be the key over the next few days as we will still see nights on the cool side with afternoon highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees through the weekend.
High pressure will begin to shift to our East and the winds will shift out of the Southeast. This change in the weather pattern will help increase our highs to where they should be at this time of year. The average high for early January is around 77 degrees with the average low being 62 degrees.
South Floridians will still need a jacket at night and in the morning hours with lows in the 50s Saturday and Sunday. Lows will be back to the 60s by Monday morning and highs will soar to the 80s.
