Northwestern Football Coach Re-Instated
MIAMI (CBS4) - Less than a week after getting fired, Northwestern Senior High football coach Billy Rolle has been reinstated to his position heading up the football team.
Last Friday night, Rolle was fired after his team beat Edison. The firing led to an outcry from alumni, but it's not known why he was fired or why he was re-instated.
"What happened came in the heat of the moment, and it was a misunderstanding between us," Rolle told CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald. "Me and Charles are longtime friends, and we talked about it. We've never had any problems in the past. We're good now."
Northwestern's vice-principal told CBS4 News when Rolle was canned that it was time for the school to go in a different direction. He also admitted that Rolle was a good coach.
Rolle has won 2 state titles, and one national title, in his time as Northwestern's coach. He also won a state title while coach at Killian.
