No S. Florida Best Buys Closing In Restructuring
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Best Buy is closing stores nationwide, but workers at the stores in South Florida can breathe a sigh of relief after the company released the list of stores to close.
The company plans to close 50 stores across the United States. Employees at the stores set for closure were informed of the decision Wednesday morning. But, NO South Florida stores made the list.
In fact, only two Florida locations will be shut down by May 12. The two Best Buy stores closing in Florida will be in Fort Myers and Tampa.
"This was not an easy decision to make. We chose these stores carefully, and are working to ensure the impact to our employees will be as minimal as possible, while serving all customers in a convenient and satisfying way. But we also recognize the impact this news has on the people who deserve respect for the contributions they have made to our business," the company said in a statement.
Best Buy said all of the impacted stores will be closed by May 12. An additional three locations will close later in the summer.
