No Gators On First-Team All-SEC List

HOOVER, Ala. (CBSMiami.com) – The SEC media gathered in Alabama has released their picks of the All-SEC teams for the 2011 season. For the first time in several years, not a single Florida Gator made the first-team All-SEC team.

Instead, it's the media's pick for the eventual SEC champion who dominated the first-team All-SEC team. A total of eight Alabama Crimson Tide players were selected to the first-team.

Among the Tide players selected were: running back Trent Richardson, linebackers Dont'a Hightower and Courtney Upshaw, and defensive backs Mark Barron and Robert Lester.

Georgia had the second-most players selected including the team's tight end, place kicker, punter, return specialist, and the Bulldogs' quarterback, Aaron Murray.

The South Carolina Gamecocks had running back Marcus Lattimore, wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, and defensive back Stephon Gilmore all landing on the first-team squad.

The defending national champion Auburn Tigers placed just one player on the first-team All-SEC team, offensive lineman Brandon Mosley.

The first UF player to make the preseason list is kicker Caleb Sturgis, who the media selected to the second-team All-SEC list. Three Gators were on the third-team list including: defensive lineman Dominique Easley, linebacker Jon Bostic, and all-purpose player Trey Burton.
