South Florida weather: Flooding possible as storms move through the region
MIAMI -- Parts of Miami-Dade was under a flash flood warning Tuesday evening as a round of severe weather rolled through the region.
The National Weather Service said the effect was in effect until 6 p.m. because of the possibility of heavy rain that could dump 3-5 inches of precipitation..
"It's a combination of a tropical wave interacting with a sea breeze front," meteorologist Cindy Preszler said, adding that the storms were moving slowly.
The high temperature topped out at 96 degrees before the rain-cooled air brought more comfortable weather to the region.
The National Weather Service canceled its heat advisory after the moisture advanced through the region.
Tuesday was the 41st day that the region was under either a Heat Advisory or Excessive Heat Warning this summer.
