Newborn Seals Celebrated At Miami Seaquarium

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Mother's Day may have officially come and gone but it's still being celebrating at a South Florida tourist attraction.

The Miami Seaquarium is proudly showing off three harbor seal pups born at the water park in recent days.

The first pup, a female, was born on Tuesday May 7th. Her mother is 8-year-old Harley, a first-time mom.

The second pup was a male born on Thursday, May 9th to17-year-old mom named Sandy.

The third pub was a female born Friday, May 10th to a 21-year-old mother named Baby.

Now check this out.

Baby, the 21-year-old mother, is also Harley's mom which makes Baby the grandmother of the first female pup born to Harley.

On average, a seal harbor pup will weigh anywhere between 15-18 pounds.  The pups are still unnamed.

Park visitors will have an opportunity to see the pubs at the Seal & Sea Lion Exhibit Pool at the Golden Dome.

Miami Seaquarium is honoring and celebrating mothers the entire month of May.  Moms are encouraged to go to www.miamiseaquarium.com/momsmonth and 'enter to win' prizes and register to receive an admission discount coupon to visit and see the newest additions to the park.
