New Information On Shooting Which Interrupted Jennifer Lopez's Video Shoot
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – New information has been released concerning a shooting which interrupted the shooting of a Jennifer Lopez music video on Ft. Lauderdale beach over the weekend.
It happened Sunday, around 7:30 p.m. at the Ft. Lauderdale Beach Park on Seabreeze Boulevard.
The video shoot was taking place in the southern end of the park, when several off-duty Ft. Lauderdale police officers working a security detail heard several gunshots coming from the northern end of the park.
Security officials initially said Lopez was in her vehicle at the time of the shooting. But Entertainment Tonight host Rob Marciano tweeted out that he was interviewing her at the time and security quickly took her away.
Police said the shooting was the result of a fight between several people north of park's restroom facilities. During the altercation, one person pulled a gun and fired several times. Several individuals involved in this disturbance took off immediately, according to police. Those who stayed around were uncooperative with the police investigation.
No injuries were reported.
Investigators say the shooting had nothing to do with Lopez's video shoot.
