New Details on Missing Nova Southeastern Student

I spoke with Charmaine Beckford -- mother of missing Nova Southeastern University student Che Beckford -- the other day about her son being found unharmed in Macon, Georgia over the weekend.

Beckford was found after a lengthy and involved search by the Pembroke Pines Police Department. The family also held a large, public vigil seeking answers about his disappearance in the days after he vanished.

Charmaine told me her son endured a "horrific time" and "he feels so terrible for his experience."

As for why he left, Charmaine did not want to get into too many specifics but she did tell me "he needed to get away." She also told me he recently had a car accident that affected him.

"He just drove and drove and drove," she said, of his journey.

She said he lost the 2009 silver Nissan Sentra he was last seen driving on Friday, December 3 and she described him as hungry and scared during his ordeal.

The family clearly has many questions about his disappearance but for the time being they are simply grateful he is home and want to get him checked out by doctors.
