New Clue In Canadian Couple's Murder In Hallandale
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Hallandale Beach police have asked for the public's help in identifying a person on a surveillance tape as they investigate the murder of a Canadian couple.
David Pichosky, 71, and Rochelle Wise, 66, were found dead inside a home at 926 NE 25th Avenue on January 10th. Police said the couple was expected to meet neighbors for lunch but never showed up. The concerned neighbors used a spare key to check the home and found the couple inside.
Video captured by a neighbor's electronic video surveillance system shows a woman walking behind the Pichosky/Wise residence on January 9th. On the tape the woman is carrying an item and walks to the rear of the residence near the Intracoastal Waterway. The woman then walked back to the front/side area of the residence empty handed.
"She's not a person of interest. She is not a suspect. But we want to see if she can provide any information on this case," said Capt. Sonia Quinones of the Hallandale Beach Police Department.
Police have been asking neighbors of the murdered couple, and the couple's family if they recognize her, and so far no one has.
Gertrude Baron who has lived in the community 16 years, says she doesn't know if the surveillance will help solve the mystery. But like everyone is hoping police make an arrest soon.
"It's horrible for the children and for the whole neighborhood," said Baron. "I came through the holocaust and I'm used to loss of life. You never get over it."
