MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Those driving on the Dolphin Expressway (SR836) and the Palmetto Expressway (SR826) this weekend should be aware of a new traffic pattern and some closures.
The Dolphin Expressway (SR836) and the Palmetto Expressway (SR826) will have a new traffic pattern starting Sunday.
So everything you already know about the area, forget it!
On Sunday, if you are on the Dolphin Expressway (SR836) westbound and trying to go on to the Palmetto Expressway (SR826) North or South, Flagler St or Northwest 87th Avenue you have to use the lanes on the right side of the expressway after the Northwest 72nd Avenue ramp.
So if you want to continue westbound on the Dolphin Expressway (SR836) past the Palmetto Expressway (SR826), you'll have to use the three left lanes. Just think of it as doing the opposite of what you do right now.
And to make matters worse, in preparation of the new pattern, there will be closures this weekend.
On Saturday, all westbound lanes on the Dolphin Expressway (SR836) are closing at NW 72 Avenue between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
The southbound Palmetto Expressway (SR826) ramp to the westbound Dolphin Expressway (SR836) on Saturday will also close from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Remember the change is happening on Sunday, so Monday morning and evening rush hours are going to be much slower than usual.
