NBA Opens Up All-Star Voting To Social Media
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The NBA is taking All-Star Game voting to another level in 2013. The league announced the 2013 All-Star ballot Tuesday and for the first time ever, NBA fans can vote via social media, including Facebook, Twitter, and others.
Fans looking to vote via Twitter can tweet a vote for one player each day throughout the balloting process. The tweet has to include a players first and last name, along with the hash tag #NBABALLOT. Facebook voting will allow fans to fill out one ballot per day through a custom app on the site.
If social media isn't your choice, fans can also vote through apps for Androida and iOS or through the NBA's website. Fans can also text their favorite players last name to 69622. The voting process will run until January 14 and the starters will be announced on January 17.
The Heat is well represented on the 2013 ballot including: guards Ray Allen and Dwyane Wade; forwards Shane Battier, Chris Bosh, and LeBron James.
The NBA did away with the center position on the All-Star ballot for 2013.
