Murdered Mother's Family Asks For Help

MIAMI (CBS4) - The family of a murdered mother made a tearful plea to the public for help to find the victim's 18-year-old boyfriend, Jay Benjamin Thomas Stubbs.

"It's really hard to tell my 4-year-old that her aunt is not going to be here no more to take her to the store, and it hurts," said Amadonne Gabriel, the sister of murdered 16-year-old Tracy Gabriel.

Tracy, the mother of a 4-month-old son, was shot to death Monday night at a Miami apartment on the 1500 block of NW 1 Place.

"I lost a sister, and a nephew lost a mom," Amadonne said. "That was my only sister, it hurts and I want justice."

"Obviously Mr. Stubbs is wanted for murder right now," said Miami Police Detective Kevin Ruggiero. "There is probable cause for his arrest."

Police said an argument between Tracy and Stubbs quickly escalated to the point where police said Stubbs pulled out a gun and shot her.

"I just want the suspect to turn himself in, for everyone watching if you see him, call homicide detectives help us out," Amadonne said.
