Muggle Mania Underway As Harry Potter Studio Tour Opens Near London
WATFORD, England (CBSMiami/CBS News) – Muggles from around the world will be able to see Hogwarts Castle for themselves starting this weekend.
Warner Bros. is opening up its studio doors near London where the popular franchise was filmed, to the public starting this Saturday.
"The Making of Harry Potter" is a studio walking tour based in the facility where the eight movies were shot between 2000 and 2010.
The tour takes fans through the films' intricate sets, where they can see real costumes, props and sets from the film including Hogwart's Great Hall, Dumbledore's office, Diagon Alley, Gryffindor's common room and more.
The three hour tour of the Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire, England, will set back visitors $33 for children, $45 for adults or $130 for a family of four.
Warner Bros. expects 5,000 people a day to visit the attraction when it opens.
The attraction is part of Warner Bros.' redevelopment of Leavesden Studios, 20 miles northwest of London, into Europe's largest filmmaking complex.
A "Harry Potter" themed amusement-park was opened in 2010 at Universal Studios in Orlando. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which reproduces Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, has already proven itself incredibly popular.
