Motorcyclist Dies In Fort Lauderdale Crash With Truck

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A motorcyclist has died from his injuries in a crash with a pickup truck in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday.
The accident happened near SE 15th St. and South Federal Highway at around 2:15 p.m.
Fort Lauderdale Police said the preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 blue Ford F-150 was traveling southbound on Federal Highway. Guillermo Rodriguez, 27, of Sunrise, was traveling northbound on his 2006 black Kawasaki motorcycle.
The driver of the Ford reportedly attempted to make a left turn to travel east on 15th, and that is when Rodriguez slammed into the truck.
Rodriguez suffered severe injuries and was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center. He later succumbed to his wounds.
Police said they do not believe alcohol played a role.
The investigation is ongoing and charges have not been filed.
