Mother Of Teen Girl Suspected In Crime Spree Arrested
MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) - The mother of one of the two teens from Kentucky arrested in Florida for an alleged crime spree has been arrested.
Dalton Hayes, 18, and girlfriend Cheyenne Phillips, 13, began running from the law and their families earlier this month, according to officials.
Sherry Peters, Phillips's mother, was arrested Monday, accused of taking the teen from her father's house when she did not have the custodial rights to do so, according to an arrest warrant provided by Grayson County Detention Center Chief Deputy Bo Thorpe.
Phillips and Hayes vanished from their small hometown of Leitchfield, Kentucky.

The pair were found on Saturday night in a stolen truck in Florida.
Thorpe says Peters has declined media interview requests and is scheduled to meet with an attorney Thursday. Hayes is in jail awaiting extradition to Kentucky. Cheyenne Phillips was taken to a safe house, where arrangements will be made for her return home.
