More Sex Abuse Charges Filed Against "Candy Man"

POMPANO BEACH (CBS4) – More charges have been filed against a neighborhood "candy man" who is now accused of sexually abusing a second pre-teen boy in his Pompano Beach neighborhood.

Wadenby Beauvais, 31, was arrested Tuesday and charged with four counts of sexual battery.  According to his arrest affidavit, Beauvis began sexually abusing the boy beginning in May 2009; at the time the child was only 11-years old.  According to the boy, every other day Beauvis would order him to go to his apartment where he would perform sex acts on him.

Last Wednesday Beauvais was charged with several counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a victim under 16 for allegedly molesting a 13-year-old boy.  Bond was set at $250 thousand by Broward Circuit Judge John Hurley who also ordered Beauvais not to sell any candy or treats in the neighborhood if he did get out.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, Beauvais befriended the 12-year-old boy and his family in mid-2009. At first, the boy told investigators, Beauvais would hug and touch him inappropriately. He said this progressed to sexual abuse which happened in his home, Beauvais' home and the van where he sold candy to the children that live in his apartment complex.

To report possible sexual abuse by Beauvais, contact BSO Detective Julie Bower at (954) 321-4240 or Crime Stoppers of Broward County at (954) 493-TIPS (8477).
