More Charges For Sawgrass Mills Peeping Tom Suspect
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A man accused of taking pictures and videotaping women as they changed clothes in a store at the Sawgrass Mills mall last year is in even more trouble.
Andre Clements, 30, was charged with two counts of video voyeurism and disorderly conduct last December. During an arraignment hearing Tuesday morning on those counts, Clements was also charged with an additional eight counts of video voyeurism. He was then arrested and bond was set at $7,500 for each of the new counts.
Clements reportedly recorded young women with two cell phone cameras as they used the dressing rooms at the Forever21 store. He was arrested after a store manager became suspicious of behavior and called the police.
When they arrived, the manager showed them several large slits in the curtain which separated the fitting room Clements was in and the adjoining fitting room.
Clements consented to being searched. In his bag, police found a small Sony camcorder and a Motorola phone. Clements also pulled an iPhone from his back pocket.
When asked if he made the slits, Clements reportedly said no but "spontaneously uttered that he did use the two phones to record in the fitting room," according to the police report.
A check of the phones revealed pictures and videos of young women in their underwear changing clothes. Clements reportedly said he had shot them minutes before the police arrived.
