More Absentee Ballot Problems In Palm Beach County
WEST PALM BEACH (CBSMiami/AP) – More problems for Palm Beach election officials after another error was found on absentee ballots.
About 500 voters will be receiving new absentee ballots after it was discovered that the ones they received were missing one of the proposed amendments to the state constitution.
The ballots did not include Amendment 5, but gave voters the chance to log their preference twice for Amendments 1, 2 and 3.
The error comes after an earlier issue involving 27,000 ballots in Palm Beach County. Because of a printing error, a heading was missing, meaning they couldn't be scanned. Election officials have had to painstakingly copy all of those ballots by hand.
The problems, for some, are eerily reminiscent of 2000, when Palm Beach County was at the epicenter of the error-plagued election.
