There is no doubt that the Florida Panthers are the surprise team in the NHL this season.
While most experts picked them as a fringe playoff team, at best, the Panthers are exceeding expectations and challenging for the Atlantic Division title.
This coming after an offseason in which general manager Dale Tallon made very few moves, instead opting to allow the team's young core to begin maturing at the NHL level.
The move has paid off as Florida has been at or near the top of the division since late December.
A healthy mix of youth and veterans has propelled the Panthers into contender status, and here are some highlights of the players who are a big reason for that.
Aleksander Barkov, 20 Years Old
Vincent Trocheck, 22 Years Old
Roberto Luongo, 36 Years Old (37 on April 4th)
Jussi Jokinen, 32 Years Old
Jaromir Jagr, 44 Years Old
Reilly Smith, 24 Years Old
