Miramar Streets Shutdown After Deadly Crash

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A deadly crash involving a tractor-trailer Thursday morning is causing some traffic tie-ups.
The deadly accident happened on Miramar Boulevard just West of Red Road.
Miramar Fire Rescue said an 18-wheeler box truck slammed into a tree, killing the driver .
Chopper4 was over the scene as the cab of the tractor-trailer could be seen smashed with smoke still coming out of it. The tractor-trailer seems to be surrounded by tree branches and power lines power lines that came down during the crash.
At last check, traffic had been shut down in both directions on Douglas Road from Miramar Parkway to Miramar Boulevard due to an active police investigation. Drivers have been asked to use an alternate route.
Florida Power & Light is working on the downed power lines.
