Miramar Detectives Believe Three Recent Robberies Are Connected
MIRAMAR (CBSMiami) -- Miramar Police are investigating whether a robbery at an auto parts supply store Monday night may be connected to two other robberies in the county.
The latest robbery happened at the AutoZone on State Road 7 Monday night.
Surveillance video shows two armed men wearing hoodies and green bandanas over their faces storm in demanding cash.
An employee opened the safe and the robbers took as much money as they could get their hands on.
The manager at the store said four employees and two customers were inside at the time.
The robbery happened just a day after two similar hold-ups in Davie and Sunrise.
On Sunday in Davie, armed robbers held up a Miami Subs restaurant on State Road 7.
One person suffered minor injuries and the bad guys got away.
That same day in Sunrise, two men, also wearing hoodies and green bandanas, barged into the Little Caesars pizzeria on North Pine Island Road with guns drawn.
After getting cash from the register, police said the robbers forced three employees into the freezer, where they bound their hands with duct tape and shot one person in the foot when he refused to give his cell phone password.
One of the robbers in the Sunrise crime was wearing sweatpants with a greenish colored stripe down the side. A man in the Miramar robbery appears to be wearing the same, if not very similar, pants.
A spokesperson for the Miramar Police Department said detectives believe the three cases may be connected.
Spokespeople for Davie and Sunrise PD could not confirm that Tuesday night, but did say no arrests had been made in their respective cases.
Anyone with information is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
