Mike Bibby May Be Miami Bound
MIAMI (CBS4) - The Miami Heat have a desperate need at the point guard position. They may have just found it in 32-year-old Mike Bibby.
Bibby agreed to a buyout with the Washington Wizards Monday afternoon, according to the Washington Post. Bibby reportedly left around $6.2 million on the table to get out of Washington, DC.
Bibby has said that his preference now is to sign with the Miami Heat.
Bibby would help fill the void at the point guard position that is often left by Mario Chalmers and Carlos Arroyo. He is shooting 43 percent from three-point land this season and is a career 38 percent shooter from way downtown.
For his career, Bibby averages 15.4 points, 3 rebounds and six assists per game.
Chalmers, for the season, is averaging 6.7 points per game and is shooting 35 percent from beyond the arc. He's shown flashes of being a solid player, but more often than not, he's an average guard who would be a good backup for most teams.
